Cybersecurity frequently asked questions
What people usually ask us before they start. If your question is not here, write to us.
Which cybersecurity services does SoluProTec offer?
Eight services: audits and risk assessment, compliance and security policies, penetration testing and vulnerability analysis, incident response and ransomware, awareness and training, strategic consulting, digital forensics and expert witness services, and Cyber Recovery.
What is the difference between an audit, a vulnerability analysis and a penetration test?
An audit reviews controls and processes against a reference framework. A vulnerability analysis detects and prioritizes known technical weaknesses. A penetration test chains them and exploits them in a controlled way to show real impact. They are combined according to the goal.
What should I do if I already have an incident under way?
Disconnect the affected machines from the network, keep everything you see and contact us before shutting down, wiping or reinstalling. When you write to us, choose the option “There is an incident in progress”: the form goes straight to your contact details.
What is a digital forensic expert report and when is it needed?
It is a technical investigation of facts in digital systems, documented with traceable evidence in a report that others can review. It is needed when you have to establish what happened in an incident, in an internal investigation or in a dispute, and the facts must be supported by evidence.
Can you help me comply with ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS or GDPR?
Yes. We run the gap analysis, design policies and controls, guide the implementation and carry out the internal audit. ISO 27001 certification is issued by an accredited certification body, not by us.
Do you work with organizations outside Panama?
Yes. We work with organizations in Panama and in other countries, remotely or on site depending on the service.
Are cybersecurity and IT security the same thing?
In practice the terms are used interchangeably. IT security focuses on protecting devices, networks and systems; cybersecurity widens the view to data, people, processes and threats that arrive over the internet. Our services cover both.
How do you protect the confidentiality of my information?
We work under confidentiality agreements and signed rules of engagement, and deliver results through agreed channels, only to the people you designate. The cases we publish are anonymized.
What does the final report include?
An executive summary for leadership, the technical detail with evidence, findings prioritized by risk and a remediation plan. Once you have fixed the findings, the retest confirms the improvement is real.
Which certifications does the team hold?
The team holds 54 certifications from 18 bodies, including OSCP, OSEP, OSWE, CISSP, CISM, CISA, LPT, CEH and CHFI. The full list is on the certifications page.
